Dear ALCDSB Families

As we approach the Christmas break, I wish to acknowledge how proud I am of all our students during these very challenging times of the pandemic. I would like to thank you for your partnership, and support of our Catholic school system.

There are a few important items of information to share with you.

In consultation with both the KFL&A and HPE Public Health units, and due to the rising COVID-19 numbers and new variant cases in our region, please note that the ALCDSB will remain in the “quadmester" format for secondary schools for the rest of the school year. This decision was difficult to make as our team considered many variables.

Once again, this is to confirm that secondary students will remain in a quadmester format for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year.

To be overly cautious, students should bring their personal belongings home with them for the Christmas break in the event the Ministry of Education and/or Public Health officials recommend that schools switch to remote learning in the new year. This preparation facilitates a smoother transition for both our students and staff in the event of such a move.

Communication updates to families will be sent via School Messenger and posted on all Board and school websites, and on all school board social media platforms.

May God bless you and your families during this Christmas Season.  It is my hope that our families relax, rest, and rejuvenate during this winter break. I realize that not all parents/guardians have the grace of a Christmas break but pray that as our partners in Catholic education, you find time for some well-deserved respite. Please stay safe and follow all Public Health directives.

“For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him." Matthew 2:2
