March 11, 2021
In recognition of Thursday, March 11 being the one-year anniversary of the World Health Organization declaring a global pandemic due to COVID-19, The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board will take part in a day of remembrance and fly all flags at half mast today in honour of all lives lost to COVID-19 in our own communities, and around the world.
We extend our deep and sincere condolences to all families, friends, and colleagues of those tragically lost during the course of the past year.
βWhile the pandemic presents ongoing and diverse challenges to our lives, we have been blessed to witness an extraordinary degree of resilience, compassion, kindness, and faith from our schools and communities. We are also extremely grateful for the tireless dedication of our local health care and essential workers, first responders, educators, and all those doing their part to follow guidelines and stop the spread of COVID-19.
We ask all of our families and community partners to please keep up your exemplary efforts in this difficult time, as we continue our mission to to build faith filled learning communities where each member is loved, inspired, and successful.
