​Congratulations to Sara Minaker, teacher at St. Paul Catholic Secondary School for receiving the ALCDSB Stewardship of Creation Award. Sara was recognized at the April 28, 2020 Board Meeting. 

"As was detailed in the nomination, Sara is a definite leader in our community when it comes to Eco initiatives around Teaching & Learning, Student Engagement & Community Connections and Environmental Leadership.  But what the nomination didn't ask for, and what most impresses me about Sara, is this is truly the way she lives her life.  Sara is an example and vocally advocates to everyone of how we should use, manage and care for all of the resources that God provides us.  I don't know too many other people who take a semester off work to take her young family to travel around Costa Rica to live in Eco Lodges and visit rehabilitation facilities so she can teach her children even more about action-driven responsibilities to the environment!  The month of memories will be special to her and her family forever and the influence of her learning will be impactful on our whole St Paul community forever!

What makes Sara stand out from others is that she puts her philosophies into action.  If you follow Sara on Instagram, you will see that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, she is still taking action to help our community.  She is sewing masks, planting gardens, supporting local businesses Eco initiatives and spending quality time with her young children in a way that continues to cultivate these priorities."
