On Thursday, February 22, young women from St. Michael Catholic School and Nicholson Catholic College participated in a day of learning about trades and tech at Loyalist College, hosted by Skills Ontario.

Skills Ontario and its partners hosted Young Women's Career Exploration Events at locations across Ontario that bring education, hands-on experience, and mentorship together, ultimately making the connection to successful career opportunities in the skilled trades and technology sectors.

Students had the opportunity to participate in a hands on activity in the wood working shop, take a tour of the trades wing at Loyalist College, and listen to women who work in the field during panel discussions.

Skills Ontario is building Ontario's skilled trades and technology workforce. They enable and empower all youth, including women and Aboriginal youth, to consider a career in the skilled trades and technologies.
