Grade 9 to 12 students in the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board are eligible for a free Kingston Transit Pass. This partnership with the City of Kingston as part of Kingston Gets Active's ActivPass program encourages our students to go green and ride the bus to access recreational programs and other activities within the City. The free bus passes were first offered to Grade 9 students in 2012-2013 and has since been expanded to include both Grade 9, 10, 11 and 12 students for the 2015-2016 school year.
The passes build on the already established Kingston Gets Active, a community-wide partnership of organizations including school boards and the City of Kingston throughout KFL&A. The ActivPass program offers Grade 9 students free access to recreational programs, such as swimming and skating, during the school year.
