On May 10, the J.J. O'Neill Catholic School community came together to raise awareness for childhood cancer, and even cut their hair to do so! This hair was donated and will be made into wigs for those who lose their hair due to cancer.
Over $600 was raised through the sale of raffle tickets and donations that will go towards the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride. It is one of the biggest charity cycling events on behalf of childhood cancer in the world, now in its 10th year. The cyclists will begin in Vancouver in September and finish on the other side of the country. Mr. Scott Slack, one of the cyclists was in attendance to support and thank J.J O'Neill for their efforts.
J.J O'Neill Catholic School community is so happy to support Mr. Slack's team and quest to support children and their families.
A very special thank you to Mrs. Kennedy and her grade 7/8 class for organizing this event - truly showing faith in action!
