Laughter and cheering filled the gymnasium of St. Peter Catholic School on Friday, April 21 as the school community came together to celebrate raising funds for their almsgiving project.
St. Peter Catholic School community set a goal to raise $1,000 to donate to the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation. They surpassed their goal, raising $2,300. Students presented a cheque to Mrs. Wendy Warner from the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation, who joined for the afternoon celebrations.
The Grade 6 students decided what staff would participate in based on how much money was raised.
Throughout the afternoon, staff participated in hair dying, snake kissing, a water bottle flip contest, an ice bucket challenge, pie in the face, and many more.
The school also focused on helping the global community by collecting soap for Canadian Food for Children.
