The purpose of the Board Improvement Plan for Student Achievement is to:
- Annually plan specific student achievement goals, developed through the analysis of system-wide quantitative and qualitative assessment data
- Improve achievement for each student in Algonquin Lakeshore Catholic District School Board
- Provide a tracking and monitoring plan for improving student achievement
- Provide an evaluation of the system-wide progress in meeting identified SMART goals
The Board Improvement Plan for Student Achievement is:
- A precise description of system-wide goals and actions that will lead to improved student learning and achievement for every student
- High levels of student achievement
- Reaching and exceeding the target of 75% of students achieving at the provincial standard in Grade 6
- Reaching and exceeding the 85% graduation rate
- Reduced gaps in student achievement
- Reducing the gap in achievement for those groups of students who, for whatever reason, need extra help
- Increased public confidence in publicly funded education
