Board Improvement Plan for Student Achievement
Discipleship
We accept the call to be imitators of Christ by embracing the Beatitudes through authentic witness at the school, community, and global levels. Rooted in our commitment to transmit our Faith and Catholic Tradition, we are inspired to build communities dedicated to the formation of young people who recognize their gifts and responsibilities to contribute to the transformation of the world into a more just and loving society for all.

Our Catholic schools’ distinctiveness is shaped by the vision of the human person emerging from our faith tradition, revealing the dignity and value of each person. Our tradition tells us that God creatively and lovingly calls each of us into the wonder of life, sustaining us by the power of the Holy Spirit. We strive to assist our students to answer the call to discipleship in faith-filled communities and through an education of the whole person. While promoting knowledge, skills and abilities, we stress the importance of witnessing a life of faith through commitment to prayer, to community, to family relationships, to caring for natural resources and God’s creatures and to civic responsibility.

All members of our school communities will experience and support a community climate that is safe, respectful, and healthy operating upon the principles restorative justice.

The dignity of all members of our school communities will be promoted through a commitment to practices consistent with the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion rooted in the virtues of our Catholic faith and tradition.

Our school improvement planning efforts clarify and deepen our Catholic identity and guide the education and faith formation of the students in our Catholic schools. The Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations create a common reference point from which our Catholic schools develop, more deeply, our Catholic character and culture within each school community.
