Colton Cooper, grade 12 student, was able to use his employment connection at Season’s Dufferin Centre Retirement Living to gain the interest and participation of residents. Volunteers from Season’s supplied Colour Run participants with water, and the facility acted as a hydration station for the event.

“When we found out our class was going to be organizing the Colour Run we immediately began reaching out to community members. At times it was challenging to reach people, however our hard work really paid. We hosted a fun event and helped our community – it feels good to be able to that,” he said.

Shayla Coe, grade 12 student and students’ council member, describes the experience as eye opening. “We faced a lot of challenges in arranging for this event, but in the end, we preserved and pulled through as a team. As someone who is usually a participant in events such as these – I know have a whole new appreciation for our teachers and coaches for all that they do,” she said.
