Black Shirt Day was first celebrated on January 15th 2021 (Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday) in Vancouver BC. The name has evolved to Black Excellence day in which people are still standing out by wearing Black shirts to support equity, inclusion and anti-racism education. We have chosen to celebrate it this Monday and we hope you'll remember to wear a black shirt with your uniform in solidarty and celebration of Black History month and Black Brilliance. There will be a viewing of the film "Icebreakers" at lunch in the Chapel with free Popcorn. The 15 minute film will play at 11:15 and 11:30. It is about a young black hockey player from Nova Scotia and the historic Black hockey league that began in the Maritimes before the NHL.
