Summer 2019 Junior rowing

Continuing on the theme developed this spring, there will be two training groups namely: performance and competitive designed to accommodate those with previous rowing experience. Those who commenced rowing this spring are welcome. Performance Juniors are expected to commit to ten trani8ng sessions per week along with listed regattas. Training will focus of race preparation and continued fitness and technical development. Competitive Juniors are expected to commit to a minimum of six training sessions along with listed regattas. Training focus on progressive technical and fitness improvement A 2k erg test will be held at 3:30 PM Thursday June 10th at the boathouse (please arrive at 3:00PM). Upon receipt of all erg scores the coaches will select the Performance and Competitive teams based on erg score, past history, potential and commitment. If you cannot attend at this time please advise John Armitage who will arrange an alternate time prior to this time. Performance Juniors will attend the following regattas: Dominion Day Regatta, Monday July 1, Toronto (Welland alternate location) Ontario Championships, Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28, London ON. Royal Canadian Henley, August 5th to 11th, St. Catharine’s ON. Competitive Juniors will attend: Dominion Day Regatta, Monday July 1, Toronto (Welland alternate location) Eastern Rowing Championships, Saturday, July 13th, Olympic Basin, Montreal PQ. Ontario Championships, Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28, London ON. Performance juniors will be led by Katie Bruggeling assisted by Brent Jodoin Competitive juniors will be led by John Armitage Rami Maassarani will set the master training program from which the junior programs will be adapted.
