Orange Shirt Day
September 22, 2020
Wednesday September 30th is Orange Shirt Day - a day to recognize the Indigenous children whose culture, language, freedoms and lives were lost, oppressed or challenged through the residential school system. The Catholic church played a shameful role in our nations history and as such we have an obligation to work towards reconciliaiton. We will encourage you to wear an Orange shirt or accessorize your uniform with Orange on that day. If there are students who identify as Indigenous, whether that is First Nations, Inuit or Metis, please see Mary Elaine or let your teacher know if you'd like to have an official t-shirt to wear and keep.
