A grade 7 St. Paul Catholic Secondary School student has been selected as a 2016 provincial Easter Seals Ambassador.
Keirra MacLeod will spend the next year representing Easter Seals and raising awareness for children with physical disabilities.
"As a regional ambassador I saw the power that sharing my experiences had on both kids and adults. Being a Provincial Ambassador, I believe that I'll be able to reach more people and help kids with physical disabilities and their families understand that they're not alone, while also raising money for Easter Seals Ontario, which is a charity that has helped me a lot," Keirra said in an interview with Easter Seals.
Keirra will work with another 2016 Easter Seals Ambassador, AJ Kleiman from Markham. She says she looks forward to "working with AJ to raise a lot of money for Easter Seals Ontario, because I know where the money goes. To help kids like me succeed."
Staff and students at The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board are very proud of Keirra's accomplishments and look forward to hearing more about Keirra's plans for Easter Seals awareness.
