​​​Welcome Back – 2023/2024

Welcome back to school Our Lady of Mercy School families! We are so very excited to be back at school with your children. 

     For those of you who do not already know me, I would like to let you know that I am a lifelong member of the Our Lady of Mercy Parish and attended Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School myself from Kindergarten to Grade 8. My children have, are, and will be attending this school as well.  I am very devoted to the school and Parish community and will do my best, together with our very enthusiastic and dedicated staff to help our students and school to thrive. I am looking forward to a wonderful year and want to make the most of the time we have together! 

Catholic Education is about the education and formation of all children in Christ. We want all of our members of our Catholic Learning Communities to feel loved, inspired, and successful! Our students are both formed in their faith and educated to become citizens of the world who can transform it into a more just and loving society. We encourage our parents to become involved in our school community by participating in school activities, School Council and/or through volunteering. We value the interconnectedness of school, church and home and recognize that this is what sets us apart. ​

Please take the time to read our newsletter that is available on line (under Parent Information).  In our newsletter, we do our best to keep you informed of activities in our school board, our school, our parishes and in the community as well. This year we are making a real effort to not send home paper copies to you unless we require a hard copy for our files. To that end, we ask that ALL parents / guardians sign up to receive our newsletter and calendar electronically. Please also check us out and follow us on Twitter @alcdsb_omer (you will see a link to our Twitter feed on the home page of this website as well). 

I am also the Principal of our sister school, St Martin of Tours in Whitney. As such I will visit St. Martin of Tours once or twice each week but spend most of my time at Our Lady of Mercy.  I can always be reached by phone through either school.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.
