Welcome Back – 2019/2020
We welcome our returning students and families and extend a special
greeting to the students and families who just joined the Our Lady of Mercy
Catholic School community. We look forward to a year that is filled with
expectations, opportunities and friendships. As always, the summer months bring changes to schools not only with respect to the cleaning and maintenance of the building but also with respect to staffing. We welcome new staff members: Miss Patricia Raisanen (Grade 1/2 Teacher); Mrs. Amber Carrigan (Grade 4/5 Teacher): Mrs. Anna Paula Young and Mrs. Laura Hetu (Educational Assistants); and Ms. Felicity Allcorn (Youth Worker). We also welcome back Ms. Tara McEnery from Maternity Leave as she assumes the role of Vice Principal.
Please take the time to
read our newsletter that is available on line (under Parent Information) However, you may prefer to sign up on our homepage to have the newsletter emailed directly to you. In our newsletter, we do our best to keep you informed of activities in our School Board,
our school, our parishes and in the community as well. Please also check us out
and follow us on Twitter @alcdsb_omer (you will see a link to our Twitter feed on the home page of this website as well). Please remember that you have the opportunity to pay many school expenses (e.g., milk / juice cards, Hot Lunch orders, School Excursions etc...) using the efficient CashOnline system.
Catholic Education is about the
education and formation of all children in Christ. Our students are both formed
in their faith and educated to become citizens of the world who can transform it
into a more just and loving society. We encourage our parents to become involved
in our school community by participating in school activities, School Council
and/or through volunteering. We value the interconnectedness of school, church
and home and recognize that this is what sets us apart.
Lastly, you will recall that I am also the Prinicipal of our sister school, St Martin of Tours in Whitney. My current plan is to be at St. Martin of Tours on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I can be reached there should you need to contact me. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
