Welcome to Holy Name!
Our little school is very proud to serve the community of families who live just north and east of the city of Kingston. We are also very grateful for our close relationship to Father Wes and Father James, and the parishes of Holy Name of Jesus, and St. Barnaby's.
While we may not be very big, our students consistently achieve excellent results in provincial assessments, compete for athletic championships, engage in exciting and innovative learning projects, serve the community, and live out their faith in big ways.
Holy Name has an active and vibrant culture of learning and living. We are home to an Ontario Early Years Centre, a before and after-school program, as well as a full complement of clubs, teams, and other enrichment opportunities.
Student mental and physical health and well-being is a priority at Holy Name. Students have access to a sensory room and exceptional outdoor facilities. They also participate in Roots of Empathy, Mindfulness practice, Restorative Circles, monthly Fun and Fitness dances, and seasonal activities like skating and swimming.
Technology is also a focus at Holy Name. We have two permanent green screens, a studio room for recording, professional grade recording equipment, a lab of IPads, as well as desktop and laptop computers to support student learning and inquiry in a wide variety of contexts. We have also invested in robotics; students have access to Lego Robotics as well as a pool of "Dot and Dash" robots to learn coding, engineering, and problem-solving.
People, however, are the foundation of this school, and the reason for its continued success. We have a team of committed educators and support staff who love their work, and who excel at building strong relationships with students, families, and the community.
If you are in our catchment area, and considering which school would be best for your child, I encourage you to stop by Holy Name for a visit. We would be more than happy to show you around, and share with you why we are so proud to be members of the Holy Name community.
