Principal's Welcome Message

Welcome to  St. Martha Catholic School

I would like to welcome you to the St. Martha Catholic School community.  I am pleased to be part of the St. Martha community and anticipate an excellent year as we learn and grow together in faith.  The purpose of our school website is to provide you with current events, exciting school news and relevant information.

This school year we have approximately 325  students enrolled.  We are blessed with the spiritual leadership of Father Wes.  We look forward to working with Father and other members of  Holy Name of Jesus Parish as our students prepare for the sacraments and as we celebrate virtual liturgies. The teaching and support staff of St. Martha is committed to working diligently to provide a faith-based quality education experience for all and look forward to working in partnership with home and parish in serving every student. We will strive to provide a positive, caring and safe environment where all are welcomed, accepted and respected. The staff of St. Martha continue to work hard every day supporting students in all aspects of curriculum content and supporting the development of the spiritual growth of our students. We feel blessed and humbled to be entrusted with playing a role on each child's educational journey.

Completing the triad of Catholic Education, is the value we place on the partnership with parents and families. Our Catholic School Council plays an active role in the school life of school. I look forward to meeting as a Catholic School Council and establishing our 2023-2024 School Council Executive.

As a Catholic school community, I'm learning of the numerous rich traditions to celebrate so we can rejoice with pride in the events that will take place this year. We will strengthen our sense of community through our ALCDSB Pastoral theme of "Blessed Beyond Belief", and to contribute to our local and global communities.

As a school community we set high expectations for our students and encourage them to get the most out of their school experience by taking advantage of the many opportunities for spiritual, academic, physical and social growth. We rely on the support of parents and parish in our mission and look forward to a great school year ahead. We are committed to being a strong community of Faith, engaged community of Learning and compassionate community of Service.

Yours in Catholic Education,

 Lisa Bickerstaffe
