Congratulations to HC student Noah Vinet who was named the Student Volunteer of the Year for the Secondary Schools of the Agonquin Lakeshore Catholic District School Board.

Noah is an incredibly giving person. He willingly volunteers his time in so many ways here at Holy Cross including reading Morning Announcements for almost two years. He has even filled in at times for our Chaplaincy Leader by leading Morning Prayers and Lunch Hour Grace. In 2015 Noah was a member of the Jamaica Mission Trip and spent 8 days volunteering at various projects in Kingston, Jamaica. His work with the students and elderly in Jamaica were one more indication of his amazing spirit of voluntarism. He gives to others with a joyful heart and spirit – qualities which were well evidenced throughout the Mission Trip.

Noah has also been involved in many Crusaders In Community Service (CICS) events and activities here at Holy Cross. He has been both a participant and a leader on our overnight Thinkfasts during Lent; he has helped out each year with the Hotel Dieu Hospital Food Blitz; he took part in the Poverty Challenge; and he has been a regular volunteer on our monthly CICS’ outreaches to the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Rosewood Retirement Home. Throughout these many activities, Noah has evidenced his strong faith. He reads regularly at our School Masses and gives out Holy Communion. He has participated on many if not all of our school retreats during his years at our school.

We are all very proud of Noah and of his recognition as Student Volunteer of the Year for the ALCDSB.
