DELF Exams - Spring 2022

March 30, 2022

French as a Second Language StudentsStudents enrolled in a ALCDSB Grade 12 FSL course this school year, and who have not previously written the DELF are eligible to take the Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF) exam.

DELF is an internationally recognized test of French proficiency. It is based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), which defines language proficiency along six global levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. At each level, proficiency is measured across four competencies: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

The DELF exam is composed of two parts- a listening, writing, and reading exam and an oral interview. Students choose which testing level to complete. This year we are offering A2, B1 and B2

Students will be writing exams in their home school. The Written component will occur within the school day and the Oral component will be taken after school. Qualified Examiners will be brought in to administer the after-school oral interviews.

Examination sessions are being held in the afternoons on the following dates:
  • B2 - June 6th (12:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.)
  • B1 - June 7th (12:00 p.m. - 1:55 p.m.)
  • A2 - June 8th (12:00 p.m. - 1:40 p.m.)
*Oral interviews will be run separately during after school sessions, starting June 7th.
