​Dear Families, Amid rising case counts of COVID-19 in the Hastings Prince Edward (HPE) region, the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board remains committed to ensuring the health and safety of our Catholic schools, and local communities. 

To this end, we ask that you please read the accompanying letter from Dr. Ethan Toumishey, Acting Medical Officer of Health, Hastings Prince Edward Public Health (HPEPH), which details new public health measures for schools in the HPE region. These measures include new screening requirements, masking while outdoors for elementary schools (if cohorts are not maintained), and masking in JK/SK classrooms and on school transportation. 

Some of these measures have already been in place in all our Catholic schools, while some articulated in this letter are new. 

We are grateful for your continued commitment and remain optimistic that through our collective efforts we can contribute to a blessed Christmas season that is safe, healthy, and enjoyable.
