How to Apply for Employment:
If you are interested in working for Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, then the following explanation will detail how to apply for vacant internal and external positions:
To apply for employment with our Board, start with a covering letter referencing the job posting for which you are applying or the type of position you are interested in, include a detailed resumé outlining your work history, education, special skills and qualifications (provide supporting documentation, as required), and provide references. Your package must be submitted through
https://www.applytoeducation.com
You must complete a
Faith Reference Portfolio. This document is required for all new teaching applications – click on the link to download this form. Then, fill out the entire form and upload it to ApplyToEducation under the tab "Pastoral Reference".
If an offer of employment is made, you will be required to submit a Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen (original document only) (current within six months of date of hire). We recommend that you not attach this document to your electronic application. Please note that an acceptable Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen is required as a condition of employment and you cannot commence employment with the Board without one.
All permanent teaching positions that become available for external hire are posted on the Board's website
here or at
www.applytoeducation.com.
You can register to receive job alerts from
www.applytoeducation.com to receive notice when the Board issues a new external job posting.
Occasional Teaching
Opportunities to apply to the Board's occasional teachers' list are available on an ongoing basis and interviews are held at various times throughout the year, as needed. Please visit
www.applytoeducation.com to complete our online application. You will need to submit the following: cover letter, resume, Faith Reference Portfolio, Ontario College of Teachers Certificates of Registration and Qualification, Practicum Teaching Reports (for recent graduates) and two signed/dated professional letters of reference.
Due to volume, we cannot contact all applicants, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Unsolicited applications will be held for a period of one year and are reviewed based on system needs.
The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board will provide accommodations throughout the recruitment process to applicants with disabilities. If you are selected for consideration, please inform Human Resources Staff of the nature of the accommodation you require.
In compliance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (1989), information received by the Board through the recruitment process will be used when considering candidates for employment.
